Today while researching, I stumbled upon Abram Santa Cruz and his backlit oil paintings on glass. More specifically the piece titled Black Stream. This piece got me thinking that it could be really interesting to print onto some kind of transparent or even semi transparent film and then mount on a light box? Use photographs of texture, focusing more on formal principles to create something more abstract??
